The Leaders of Tomorrow Youth Center (LTYC) in Capitol Heights, MD, US, is seeking a committed individual to join us as a Theatre/Puppetry Specialist. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to spark the imagination of young minds through the captivating world of performance art. Responsibilities include creating engaging performances, nurturing emerging talent, and fostering a love for the arts in the local youth community. With a competitive hourly wage of $25 to $28, you will play a crucial part in a dynamic team dedicated to shaping the future leaders of tomorrow. Develop and implement creative lesson plans for theatre and puppetry workshops.
Coordinate and lead engaging classroom activities focusing on performance arts.
Design and create puppet characters and props for theatrical productions.
Manage classroom dynamics and ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with other instructors to organize and execute performances showcasing students' talents.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience in theatre or puppetry performance.
Strong background in lesson planning for theatrical or puppetry productions.
Excellent classroom management skills.
Proficiency in creating engaging and interactive puppet shows or theatrical performances.
US work authorization and eligibility to work in Maryland.
