Our team values communication, collaboration, and continuity of care — both in and out of the office. We’re seeking an experienced In Person Telephonic Triage Nurse (not eligible for remote work) to enhance our dynamic team and serve as a vital connection between patients, providers, and the care team. This nurse provides professional telephone triage, patient education, and follow-up care coordination for a variety of OB/GYN concerns. Candidates must have strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a warm, empathetic approach and a positive outlook.

Some of the primary Responsibilities Include but are not Limited to:

  • Provide telephonic triage and advice for obstetric and gynecologic concerns using established protocols and clinical judgment.
  • Communicate abnormal lab, imaging, and test results to patients as directed by providers; facilitate next steps in care.
  • Answer patient questions regarding medications, symptoms, procedures, and general women’s health concerns.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate care with providers and other team members as needed.
  • Complete prior authorizations for medications, procedures, and imaging studies.
  • Review and process medication refill requests, ensuring clinical appropriateness and adherence to protocols.
  • Document all patient interactions accurately and promptly in the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Follow up on outstanding patient needs, referrals, and test results to ensure continuity of care.
  • Support providers and administrative staff with various patient-related communications and coordination tasks.
  • Other duties not outlined here as directed by supervisor.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Active, unrestricted RN (Registered Nurse) or LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) license in Virginia or compact state.
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in women’s health, OB/GYN, or primary care.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, organization, and time-management skills.
  • Comfort using EHR systems and digital communication tools.
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care.

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of common OB/GYN conditions, including prenatal care, contraception, menstrual issues, menopause, infections, and pregnancy complications.
  • Strong understanding of OB emergencies (e.g., bleeding, preterm labor, preeclampsia warning signs) and when to escalate care.
  • Telephonic triage experience.

Why Join Our Team:

  • Paid time off that will increase with tenure.
  • Major Federally recognized holidays off with pay.
  • A competitive benefits package with optional supplemental benefits.
  • Leadership is dedicated to cultivating and maintaining an environment that is positive and fuels growth.
  • Opportunities that provide healthy challenges.
  • Coworkers that push you to succeed.
