Are you passionate about financial markets and ready to make your mark in securities lending? Prime Finance is seeking a talented Junior Trader to join our Stock Borrow Loan desk. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic twenty-member trading and sales team while developing your expertise in domestic SBL trading activity.
Job Summary
As a Junior Trader on the Stock Borrow Loan desk within Prime Finance, you will support and cultivate US hard-to-borrow equities trading flow. You will work closely with institutional lenders and collaborate with internal teams to maximize returns while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and risk management.
Job Responsibilities
- Support and cultivate US hard-to-borrow equities trading flow.
- Source new hard-to-borrow supply and build relationships with institutional lenders.
- Assist in maximizing the return on long inventory through strategic lending.
- Collaborate with the Product Development team to enhance trading and reporting functionality.
- Maintain high standards of compliance and risk management in all trading activities.
- Communicate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of markets experience, preferably in securities lending or equities.
- Proficiency with trading platforms and market data tools such as Bloomberg and Excel.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Self-starter with a strong interest in financial markets.
- Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to upholding regulatory and risk management standards.
Preferred Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
- Experience in securities lending or related trading activities.
- Knowledge of US equity markets and hard-to-borrow dynamics.
- Familiarity with Prime Finance products and services.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
