We offer a full range of English Language and Literacy courses for students aged 2.5 – 14 years old with small class sizes. Through these scientifically designed courses students develop their English linguistic abilities in a natural way, similar to the manner in which we learn our first language. This style of learning has proven to be highly effective. Classes are designed to be interactive, activity based and focused on individual student needs and progress.

We have a strong commitment to excellence so we provide our staff with training courses facilitated by professional qualified trainers. Many years have been spent on developing our own curriculum and syllabus; you will have full access to these excellent resources along with continuous support from our managers and teacher trainers.

Discovery 1 (2.5 to 3.5 years old)
-Students speak simple short sentences of 3-5 words using simple vocabulary
-Increase vocabulary using specialized classroom resources
Discovery 2 (3.5 to 5.0 years old)
-Students speak using short grammatically correct sentences of 8-10 words
-Answer comprehension questions that may require new story endings
Discovery 3 (4.5 to 5.5 years old)
-Students orally blend and segment those sounds to make new words
-Students stand in front of the class and discuss a topic for one minute
I Can Read 1 to 6 (5.5 to 7.0 years old)
-Students read using the I Can Read coding system without relying on rote memorisation
-Students answer comprehension questions using correct grammar
English Plus 1 to 6 (7 to 14 years old)
-Empowers students to excel at Primary School and in formal exams
-Students receive instruction and practice on -vocabulary extension-applied grammar-punctuation-writing and editing skills-collaborative projects with classmates-oral communication and speaking skills-dynamic presentation skills

Teach English in Guangzhou

Guangzhou, a prosperous metropolis full of vigor, is the capital city of Guangdong province located along the south coastline of China. Being an excellent port on the Pearl River navigable to the South China Sea, and with fast accessibility to Hong Kong and Macau, Guangzhou serves as the political, economic, scientific, educational and cultural center in the Guangdong area. Guangzhou is considered as the paradise for food-lovers in south China. Explore a modern, developing city with an exciting mix of restaurants, bars, shopping as well as tradition elements.

Main Responsibilities

-Teaching speaking and listening skills using our ESL curriculum and materials
-Teaching pre-reading skills to children using our unique literacy system
-Teaching reading and comprehension skills
-Teaching writing skills including grammar, narratives, editing and publishing
-Teaching oral presentation and communication skills
-Help children develop social skills and positive classroom behaviour
-Conducting pre-enrolment assessments for new students
-Participate in marketing events
-5 day working week (usually Wednesday to Sunday) with 2 consecutive days off mid-week
-Maximum 40 hour working week
-Maximum 25 teaching hours per week
-Maximum 15 hours admin work/marketing events per week

Compensation

-Excellent salary: 17,000 to 21,000 RMB gross per month (based on qualifications & teaching experience)
-Monthly housing allowance of 2,500 RMB
-Yearly salary increase of 1,000 RMB up to a maximum salary of 24,000 RMB
-Airport pick-up upon arrival
-End of contract bonus: base bonus 10,000 RMB
-End of contract travel allowance: up to 6,500 RMB
-Re-signing bonus of 5,000 RMB per contract
-10 days paid annual leave plus all Chinese public holidays
-Medical leave 5 days
-Legal ‘Z’ work visa provided -Hospitalisation insurance provided for accident and illness
-Professional in-depth training provided at headquarters in Guangzhou during the first 7 days (1,500 RMB paid) plus periodic curriculum update training
-All curriculum material provided and ongoing academic support

Requirements

-Bachelor’s degree required
-TEFL certificate with 120 hours or above required (No TEFL? – We recommend INTESOL )
-Native English speaker from USA, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa or Ireland
-Teaching experience preferred but not required
-Fluency in oral and written English
-Patient, motivated and passionate in teaching young learners
