Starting Pay Rate: $16.25 per hour

Excelsior Defense is seeking dedicated and professional Unarmed Security Officers to join our team and provide exceptional security services at multiple City of St. Petersburg locations, including libraries and fleet management facilities. Key Responsibilities:

• Patrol Duties: Conduct regular indoor and outdoor patrols of assigned areas, including building perimeters, parking lots, and garages, to detect suspicious activity and ensure property security.
• Access Control: Monitor entry and exit points, verify identification, issue visitor badges, and maintain detailed visitor logs.
• Incident Response: Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and suspicious activities, following established protocols.
• Customer Interaction: Greet visitors, provide information, and enforce facility-specific rules such as the Library Patron Code of Conduct.
• Facility Management Support: Secure equipment, check fire extinguishers, and report maintenance issues like faulty locks or burnt-out lights.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and hazard reports for submission to supervisors.
• Emergency Preparedness: Assist with building evacuations, lockdowns, or other emergency procedures.

Qualifications:

• Valid Florida Class "D" Security Officer license.
• Minimum of two (2) years of security, military, or civilian police experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Strong observational and reporting skills.
• Ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Familiarity with operating security equipment such as cameras, radios, and alarm systems.

• Availability to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
• Commitment to professionalism, punctuality, and maintaining a clean and authorized uniform at all times.
