We're excited to share a unique REMOTE opportunity supporting the Railroad Commission of Texas as a Mainframe Top Secret Security/zOS Admin. About the Role
- Serve as the subject-matter expert in mainframe Top Secret Security Administration for a key Texas state agency.
- Play a critical role in maintaining data security and regulatory compliance for vital mainframe systems.
- Flexible remote work with a long-term contract (6 42 months) providing stability and growth.


Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day security administration, including user account support and system maintenance.
- Coordinate and troubleshoot mainframe operations and collaborate with IT teams.
- Oversee compliance, security audits, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Provide expert support for z/OS, IMS/VSAM, and Informatica Power Exchange.


Required Skills and Experience
- Deep hands-on expertise with Top Secret Security (TSS) and z/OS Administration.
- Strong experience with JES2, OMVS, SMS, and TLS/SSL/RSA configuration.
- Proven track record in security compliance and audit processes.
- Solid understanding of Job Scheduling, BlueZone, and mainframe networking (VTAM).


Preferred Skills
- Experience with REXX scripting.
- Familiarity with performance monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Administration experience with Informatica Power Exchange.
- Working knowledge of VSAM, TSO, JOBTRAC, SMP/E, RMF, SMF, WLM, JCL, and GRS.
