Job Description

Peer Recovery Support Specialist - Virginia Beach

Sunday - Thursday 2:00pm - 10:30pm

Pay rate: $19.75 per hour

Please: only apply if you have peer recovery experience of 6 months+

Responsible for provision of support services to adults with substance use disorders. Performs screenings, conducts recovery-oriented service planning, and individual goal implementation to include training/coaching in daily living skills, facilitating social/recreational activities, recovery education, and fostering client advocacy and responsibility. Conducts GPRA surveys.

• Works closely with local hospital emergency rooms, Emergency Service, and Crisis Stabilization staff to provide client perspective on a comprehensive assessment to determine individualized treatment preferences.
• Assists clients in developing a Recovery Plan by identifying client’s goals, strengths, and steps toward recovery, to include needed supports.
• Completes GPRA surveys
• Assists clients with general problem solving and development of skills in obtaining services and supports through coaching toward an increased sense of responsibility.

 

Must have:

Graduation from Peer-to-Peer Support Specialist Training (or working toward this certification) or WRAP Facilitator training. Must be eligible to become a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) in Virginia.

Must have lived experience with substance abuse or mental health disorders!
