Position Summary The Procurement Intern will support the procurement department in researching, sourcing, and acquiring the goods and services essential to Metrea’s operations. This role offers the selected intern valuable, hands-on exposure to DOD contracting procurement processes, as well as practical experience in strategic sourcing, supplier management, and aviation procurement industry standards. The ideal candidate is motivated to learn about procurement functions and is eager to contribute to the success of aircraft operations at Metrea.
Essential Functions And Competency Statements - Assist in the preparation of purchase orders in support of Metrea’s aircraft.
- Support supplier management, including identifying potential suppliers, maintaining vendor databases, and analyzing supplier performance.
- Conduct research on new components and suppliers to enhance procurement strategies.
- Support the procurement team in maintain accurate records of purchases.
- Hep with Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers.
- Assist in preparing regular reports on procurement activities, including cost savings, supplier performance, and inventory levels.
- Provide general administrative support to the procurement department.
- Basic knowledge of procurement processes and supply chain management.
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Detail-oriented with a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Excels at resolving complex challenges with a strategic and thoughtful approach.
Supervisory Responsibility This role does not have supervisory responsibilities
Work Environment This role operates in an office setting using standard office equipment.
Physical Demands This is a largely sedentary role; however, some physical abilities will be required.
Expected Hours of Work This is a part-time job of 29 hours per week carried out from Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change by department and business needs.

Required Education And Certificates - High School Degree;
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university/college with a major in Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, or Data Analysis
Computer Skills - Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong talent in managing large data sets in Microsoft Excel, PowerPivot, Azure
- PowerBI coding and dashboard development a plus
- Python and SQL experience a plus
Additional Eligibility Qualifications - Must be able to accomplish any and all duties with little or no assistance.
- Must have good command of the English language; oral and written.
