Overview
Our company prides itself with being a general contactor that has been in business for over 69 years. Our specialty is building gas stations. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Superintendent to oversee construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing construction sites, ensuring quality control, and maintaining project schedules. As a Superintendent, you will play a crucial role in coordinating various aspects of the project, including compliance with safety regulations. Your expertise in tools such as ProCore and Microsoft Products will be essential for effective project management.
Responsibilities
Supervise daily operations on construction sites to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and team members to facilitate smooth workflow and communication.
Maintain detailed daily logs including job site activities, equipment times/usage, tank vacuum and line pressure.
Conduct regular site inspections to enforce quality control standards and safety regulations.
Monitor equipment for daily services and repairs; reporting any damaged equipment along with incident reports.
Manage company safety regulations and lead weekly safety meetings.
Order inspections when needed.
Schedule and store materials and supplies.
Read and understand all facets and details of blueprints to review with subcontractors.
Shoot grades and layout buildings.
Review plans and specifications to ensure compliance with design requirements.
Direct and motivate all field personnel and subcontractors to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications.
Coordinate lodging needs for self and crew.
Address any issues or conflicts that arise on-site promptly and effectively.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Superintendent in the construction industry, particularly with petroleum projects.
Strong knowledge of construction site management practices and safety regulations.
Familiarity with construction estimating processes is preferred.
Ability to operate dozers, excavators and loaders preferred.
Experience using software tools such as ProCore, Bluebeam and Microsoft Office for document management and collaboration.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Experience in managing multiple projects.
Overnight travel will be required.
Ability to work weekends.
Must have a valid drivers license and clean driving record.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
