Responsible for effectively planning, developing, implementing, overseeing, and integrating the Center’s safety program.
• • Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations and health and safety practices.
• Ensures compliance with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps notices and bulletins, Equus, and Center policies and procedures.
• Enforces all procedures regarding property/equipment.
• Ensures civil rights of program participants and staff are not violated and proceedings are in compliance with DOL, Equus and legal guidelines. Maintains effective public contact and communication.
• Oversees annual Center fire inspection with local Fire Marshall, and annual inspection of fire safety equipment.
• Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property, adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
• Conducts and participates in weekly and quarterly environmental safety inspections.
• Provides support to Center staff, instructors, and students.
• Serves as a positive role model for program participants by reinforcing safety practices.
• Maintain timely accurate log reports.
• Transports students as assigned.
• Assist with the monitoring of the visitor center as needed.
• Investigates safety incidents on Center and provides clear and accurate reports.
• Conducts safety inspection of work-based learning sites as required.
• Conducts in-service training for Center staff as required.
• Facilitate the monthly Safety Committee meetings; provide safety awards and recognition.
• Reports significant/major incidents or accidents to the Safety/Security Manager and Center Director or Designee.
• Cooperates in external/internal investigations as requested.
• Ensures all PRH 5.9 R5 required inspections are conducted daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually.

• Must complete all safety-related courses as outlined in the PRH and Equus policies/procedures.
• Monitor and inspect Center equipment and material. Clearly communicates and consistently models appropriate CSS and employability skills.
• Maintains accountability of staff, students, and property.
• Adheres to safety practices in all areas of responsibility.
• Fosters and sustains a conducive environment at the center, ensuring it remains free from harassment, intimidation, and disrespect, thereby ensuring a safe space for both staff and students to engage in work and learning.
• Attends all required staff training opportunities.
• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety or related field. Combination of education and experience may be substituted for degree on a year-for-year basis.
• Two years related experience.
• Experience working with youth.
• A valid driver’s license in the state of employment with an acceptable driving record.
