Responsibilities:
- Provide skilled nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
- Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Develop and implement patient treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians, other nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate and complete patient records.
- Respond to patient needs and emergencies in a timely and effective manner.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings.
- Maintain a safe and clean patient care environment.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
- Minimum of two years of experience in a Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
- Clinical assessment, medication administration, and treatment planning skills.
- Interdisciplinary team collaboration skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification.
- Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
- Experience with Cerner electronic health record system.
Special Considerations:
- Work in a fast-paced Medical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) environment, including potential exposure to infectious diseases.
- May involve caring for COVID-19 patients.
