Job Description and Duties

Under the supervision of the Staff Services Manager I (SSM I), the Staff Services Analyst is part of the Licensing section of the Medical Board of California (Board). The incumbent is responsible for performing analytical work associated with the licensure of physicians and surgeons. See the Duty Statement for a detailed description of the job duties.

Working Conditions

Candidates who reside outside of the State of California may be admitted to the job interview. However, they must reside in the State of California once they are hired and start working.

The incumbent works a 40-hour week in a hybrid telework environment, which includes time worked both at a designated telework location and in a standard office setting with controlled lighting and temperature. Regular use of a computer and telephone is essential. Physical requirements are typical of office work, including extended periods of sitting and occasional standing. 

Special Requirements

Criminal Offender Record Information: Title 11, section 703 (d) of the California Code of Regulations requires criminal record checks of all personnel who have access to Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI). Pursuant to this requirement, applicants for this position will be required to submit fingerprints to the Department of Justice and be cleared before hiring. In accordance to DCA's (CORI) procedures, clearance shall be maintained while employed in a CORI-designated position. Additionally, the position routinely works with sensitive and confidential issues and/or materials and is expected to maintain the privacy and confidentiality of documents and topics pertaining to individuals or to sensitive program materials at all times.
