As a Staff Services Analyst you will have the opportunity to:
  • Provide procurement assistance, such as purchasing and acquiring goods and services needed for operations in the Headquarters, Clovis, and Sacramento Cal Center Offices by integrating environmentally preferred procurement into business practices and using the Financial Information System for California (Fi$Cal)
  • Evaluate and independently determine appropriate procurement procedures ensuring compliance with Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) and control agency mandated requirements, including but not limited to, State Agency Buy Recycled campaign (SABRC), Small Business (SB) and/or Disabled Veteran Business Enterprise (DVBE) requirements, State of California purchasing methods (P Card/Cal Card, Purchase Order, CMAS, etc.), and available sources for purchases (e.g., state contracts, contractors/suppliers, delegated purchase estimate, etc.)
  • Serve as the Cypress Regional Office procurement liaison to DTSC’s Accounting and Financial Planning Offices and the Contract and Business Services Branch for purchase-related matters
  • Serve as the Liaison between Legal and Program staff with regard to Public Records Act (PRA)Requests
  • Identify and analyze records in collaboration with Project Managers to determine if they are exempt from public disclosure and determine appropriate exemption in collaboration with and guidance from OLC staff
  • Create and maintain documentation of past PRA exemptions to collaborate with and assist Project Managers with consistently assessing and applying designated exemption type
  • Must be tactful and maintain a good rapport with other employees, peers, and supervisors
  • At least 1 year working with procurement, contracts, and/or purchasing preferred
