Job Description

Summary: The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality dishes in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring that the kitchen operates smoothly and meets the culinary standards set by the restaurant. Working under the direction of the culinary management team, you play a crucial role in contributing to a positive dining experience for guests.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare pizza dough according to recipes, ensuring the right consistency and flavor.
• Monitor dough fermentation and proofing processes.
• Stretch and shape dough into various sizes and styles (e.g., thin crust, deep dish).
• Assemble pizzas by applying sauces, cheeses, and toppings in accordance with menu specifications.
• Operate pizza ovens, ensuring pizzas are cooked to perfection (timing, temperature).
• Monitor cooking times and temperatures to maintain quality and consistency.
• Handle and process raw ingredients, ensuring proper cleaning, cutting, and marinating techniques are employed.
• Adhere to food safety and hygiene guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
• Acquire a thorough understanding of the restaurant's menu, including ingredient details and preparation methods.
• Coordinate with other kitchen staff to ensure the timely preparation and delivery of orders.
• Manage multiple orders simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet service deadlines without compromising food quality.
• Maintain open communication with kitchen staff, servers, and management to relay order details, special requests, and inventory needs.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to create a positive and productive work environment.
• Conduct regular taste tests to ensure that all dishes meet the restaurant's standards for flavor, seasoning, and presentation.
• Report any inconsistencies or quality issues to the chef or kitchen supervisor.
• Follow sanitation procedures and guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
• Assist with cleaning duties, including dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and storage organization.

Must Haves:

• Previous experience as a pizza maker or similar role in a restaurant setting.
• Knowledge of various cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and knife skills.
• Attention to detail and precision in food preparation.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and health regulations
• Customer-centric
• Ability to walk and stand for long periods.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
