Description

• We are seeking a seasoned Firewall Migration Specialist with deep expertise in Checkpoint to Palo Alto firewall migration and deployment.
• The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, planning, and executing firewall migration strategies while ensuring minimal downtime and robust security posture throughout the transition.
• This role requires a professional with a proven track record in managing complex network security infrastructures and delivering successful end-to-end firewall transformations.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed assessments of existing Checkpoint firewall environments.
• Develop comprehensive migration strategy and project plan including risk mitigation, rollback, and change control procedures.
• Analyze rule sets, security policies, NAT rules, objects, and VPN configurations.
• Design secure and scalable Palo Alto firewall architectures to replace or augment existing Checkpoint infrastructure.
• Create HLD (High-Level Design) and LLD (Low-Level Design) documents tailored to customer environments.
• Align firewall configurations with enterprise security policies and compliance standard.
• Utilize tools (manual rule re-creation, API-based migration) to convert and validate security policies.
• Perform hands-on deployment of Palo Alto Networks NGFWs, including HA setup, interfaces, zones, routing, and dynamic updates.
• Configure security policies, NAT, VPNs (IPSec/SSL), URL filtering, threat prevention, and decryption policies.
• Execute pre- and post-migration validation tests to ensure policy accuracy, connectivity, and performance.
• Troubleshoot issues during and after migration, ensuring minimal impact on production traffic.
• Provide detailed documentation and change records.
