RMC is hiring a  Microsoft System Administrator (ON SITE - FULL TIME) to support our customer at NSWC Carderock, in Bethesda, MD.  The selected applicant will support the site's RDT&E network and be expected to provide administration support for servers and workstations running Microsoft Windows. In addition, the applicant will support Virtualization and Storage infrastructures, application services hosting/management, and server hardware installation/removal.

Tasks the selected applicant will be required to perform are, but not limited to:

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft server systems, including Windows Server and related technologies.
• Monitor core system performance and availability, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of server environments.
• Perform regular updates, apply patches, and perform backups to maintain system integrity and security.
• Troubleshoot and resolve server-related issues and outages, coordinating with other offices as necessary.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls in accordance with security policies.
• Implement and maintain network infrastructure, including domain controllers and Active Directory (AD).
• Document server configurations, maintenance routines, and troubleshooting procedures.

The selected applicant must be able to demonstrate the following:

• At least three (3) years of experience administering Microsoft Active Directory (AD), plus demonstrated experience in all aspects of hardware and software pertaining to Microsoft server products including** Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), Group Policy, and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).** Expertise in any of the following is highly desired: Structured Query Language (SQL); Domain Name Service (DNS); HPE SimpliVity; PowerShell; and VMware enterprise virtualization products.

• Understand and apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure compliance of hardware and software systems. 

• Ensuring the security and efficiency of IT infrastructure using Data At Rest (DAR) encryption.

• Strong organizational and communication skills through relevant work experience.

• Ability to troubleshoot problems, conduct research, and to learn and propose new technology solutions through historical examples from the person’s experience.

Requirements

• An active DoD TOP SECRET clearance is required to start. The applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information

• Must possess at least one of the following Operating System (Microsoft) certifications/trainings: Windows Server 2012; Windows Server 2016; Windows Server 2022; Windows 10; Windows 11. All other trainings listed must be completed within 6 months of start date and thereafter obtain the most current advanced level trainings. 

• Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License.

• Must possess an IAT II 8140.03 baseline certification (one from the following list):

  • CompTIA Security+ Certificate

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Security Certificate

  • CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA) Certificate

  • GIAC Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional (GICSP) Certificate

  • GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC) Certificate

  • ISC2 Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) Certificate

  • EC-Council Certified Network Defender (CND) Certificate

Salary at RMC is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, a candidate's specific combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific requirements. The current salary range for this position will be $110,000 to $135,000 (annually).
