Monday – Friday 8:30 am – 5:00pm.
Compensation:
$19.50 – $23.50 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Clinic Overview:

Job Summary:

The Medical Receptionist is responsible for managing front desk operations in a high-volume medical clinic setting. This role is the first point of contact for patients and visitors and is critical to ensuring a professional, organized, and welcoming environment. The receptionist supports patient intake , scheduling , insurance verification , and administrative coordination while maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to clinic protocols. This position does not include clinical decision-making or case management responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Reception & Communication

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly and professionally.
  • Answer incoming calls promptly, using approved scripts and protocols.
  • Direct inquiries to appropriate staff members.
  • Provide accurate and concise information about clinic services, hours, and appointment procedures.

Patient Intake & Scheduling

  • Accurately enter, update and verify patient demographic, insurance, and contact information in the EMR.
  • Schedule, confirm, and reschedule appointments using EMR.
  • Send appointment reminders and follow up on no-shows using approved communication methods (text, phone, email).

Administrative Support

  • Prepare daily schedules and communicate patient flow updates to clinical staff.
  • Scan, fax, and file documents securely and accurately.
  • Respond to medical records requests in compliance with HIPAA and clinic policy.
  • Collect and process patient payments, co-pays, and eligibility documentation.

Clinic Environment

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming waiting area.
  • Monitor patient wait times and communicate delays professionally.

Training & Compliance

  • Participate in required training for new systems, confidentiality, and compliance.
  • Follow all clinic policies.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with Athena EMR and patient intake software.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality standards.
