We are currently seeking a Database Analyst Senior Advisor / DB2 Administrator At GDIT, people are our Differentiator. You will help ensure today is safe and tomorrow is smarter. The Database Administrator has overall responsibility for + Perform many related database functions across one or more teams or clients, including designing, implementing and maintaining new databases, backup/recovery, performance tuning, and configuration management + Install database management systems (DBMS) and provide input for modification of procedures and documentation used for problem resolution and day-to-day maintenance + Responsibilities include but are not limited to: schema updates, data replication, SQL creation and analysis **WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED:** + **Education** : Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related technical discipline; OR the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience. **Required** **:** 10 years experience DB2 Administration ​ **Experience:** 10+ years of experience in the following duties: + Primary database administrator for the DB2 subsystems for the DHCS mainframe + Provides tuning and performance recommendations, configures, and maintains and supports DB2 applications. Provide technical assistance and production support to the development teams for DB2 related issues and concerns. + Provides DB2 reporting and system information for DB2 auditing, support DB2 audit tools + Monitor DB2 performance and recommend tuning to improve performance. + Also responsible for third party development tools from BMC. + Install and configure DB2 + Install and configure DB2 related tools such as Insight and Catalog Manager + Production support and problem resolution + Ensuring recoverability by setting up proper backup utilities and procedures + Production monitoring and performance analysis + Performance tuning which includes but is not limited to improving indexing, rewriting SQL, and restructuring DB2 or Datacomm objects + Database design reviews + Reviewing and implementing database changes such as new tables, modifying existing tables, new indexes, and creating a variety of other DB2 objects as needed by the application + Scheduling or running utilities to maintainoptimal database organization for best performance + Performing database recovery when necessitated by hardware or software failure + Providing guidance and support and debugging expertise to application developers + Participating in security audits + Monitoring application unit testing and system/load testing in development ​ **Work** **Location** : Hybrid based in Sacramento, CA. Expect to be in the office at least 1day a week. **Timeline:** This position is not yet funded. The likely salary range for this position is $182,873 - $247,417. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
