A hospital in southeastern Virginia is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide ongoing Cardiothoracic Surgery and ICU locum coverage.
Opportunity Details:
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 3 nights per week
Call shifts required
Daily Volume: 20 patients
Procedures: Arterial catheters, venous lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, chest tube placement, etc.
ECMO, transplant, and mechanical circulatory device experience preferred
EMR: Epic
Paid travel & expenses
Must be board-certified, DEA, CSR

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
National Institutes of Health (NIH)
Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
Active unencumbered Virginia Nurse Practitioner state license
Graduate from a fully accredited Nurse Practitioner program
One year of work experience as Cardiovascular Surgery and CVICU Nurse Practitioner
One year of Epic experience
Board Certified
MUST have experience harvesting endo-veins, ECMO, CVICU, and OR experience
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
