Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Kafka Expert to join our banking infrastructure support team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in managing, optimizing, and troubleshooting Apache Kafka ecosystems. This role is critical to ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our banking applications that rely on Kafka for real-time data processing.
Key Responsibilities
Kafka Management: Install, configure, and maintain Apache Kafka clusters to support our banking applications.
Performance Optimization: Monitor and tune Kafka clusters for optimal performance and scalability.
Data Integration: Develop and manage Kafka data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow across various banking systems.
Incident Management: Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Kafka to minimize downtime and ensure high availability.
Security: Implement security best practices to safeguard Kafka environments, including encryption, authentication, and authorization.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for Kafka configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Collaboration: Work closely with developers, database administrators, and other IT team members to integrate Kafka with other systems.
Upgrades and Patches: Plan and execute upgrades and patches for Kafka clusters to ensure they are up-to-date and secure.
Required Qualifications
Experience: Minimum of 8+ years of experience in managing Kafka clusters in a production environment.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in Kafka, Zookeeper, and related tools. Experience with Linux environments, scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash), and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve Kafka-related issues.
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
Banking Experience: Familiarity with the banking industry and its regulatory requirements is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Certifications: Kafka certification or other relevant IT certifications.
Cloud Experience: Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and managed Kafka services (e.g., Confluent Cloud).
Automation: Experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
