Are you passionate about cybersecurity, compliance, and making a real impact in a large-scale government environment? As a Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) Management Specialist, you’ll be at the heart of our Information Security team, working to help protect one of the state’s most critical financial systems. In this dynamic role, you’ll take the lead in managing audit processes, acting as the go-to liaison for security auditors, and driving the development of security policies, guidelines, and standards that keep us compliant with state, federal, and industry requirements. You’ll help shape our cybersecurity strategy by ensuring our procedures align with FI$Cal’s security policies, and you’ll collaborate with teams across the organization—guiding them through the development and improvement of their own security processes. Working Conditions

This position provides hybrid telework opportunities, with employees currently required to work in-person at least two days per week. In alignment with Executive Order N-22-25, FI$Cal employees will be required to work in-person at least four days per week. FI$Cal’s office is located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, CA 95815.

Candidates residing outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is required prior to appointment. Relocation and commute expenses are the responsibility of the employee.


This position requires prolonged sitting in an office-setting environment with the use of a personal computer. Employees must demonstrate a commitment to maintain a working environment free from discrimination and sexual harassment. All staff must maintain regular, consistent, predictable attendance, maintain good working habits and adhere to all policies and procedures.
