Job Title: Front Desk Receptionist
Agency: Department of the Air Force – 66th Force Support Squadron (66 FSS/FSH)
Location: Onsite – Hanscom Air Force Base, Bedford MA 01731
Rate: $18/hr - $26/hr

 
Position Overview:
The  Front Desk Receptionist will support the Military & Family Readiness Center (M&FRC) at Hanscom AFB by delivering high-quality customer service and administrative support. This position involves front desk reception, scheduling, data entry, and maintaining databases such as AFFIRST and the DoD Transition Assistance Program (TAP) systems. Candidates should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, web-based platforms, and have at least 1 year of customer service experience, ideally in a military or government environment. 

 
Responsibilities:
  • Answer phone calls and greet visitors, determine their needs, and direct them to the appropriate staff member.
  • Schedule clients for M&FRC classes and provide clear guidance on routine processes.
  • Enter data into AFFIRST and TAP systems, including scheduling classes and sending reminder emails.
  • Keep the front desk area neat by organizing chairs, materials, and reporting any broken equipment.
  • Ensure all clients sign in and generate monthly usage reports.
  • Adhere to designated work hours (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM), excluding federal holidays.
  • If telework is implemented, perform all responsibilities remotely (except tasks requiring physical presence).
 
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Windows).
  • At least 1 year of professional customer service experience.
  • Familiarity with military protocol and working with diverse populations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Business casual dress code required during duty hours.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Common Access Card (CAC) and pass a security background check.
