1 Day Event Demo Staff Position in Pasadena, CA on 9/25/2025

Who We Are:
Established in 1926, Mutual Trading Co., Inc. was originally a small co-op organization for centralized purchasing of basic import foods to service the needs of the early Japanese immigrant society in Southern California. We've grown nearly 100 years old now, and command a premiere position among Japanese foodservice suppliers, as well as fill a key role as "Culinary Ambassador" promoting Japanese foods worldwide. Currently, we import, manufacture, and distribute over 7,000 Japanese foods, beverages, restaurant equipment and supplies.

We are looking for demo staffs for our annual FOOD EXPO at Pasadena Convention Center on 9/25. If you find you have great customer service skills and/or you are interested in Japanese foods, please send us your resume!

Location: Pasadena Convention Center, Pasadena, CA

Date and Hours: 9/25 (Thursday) 8AM – 3PM or 4PM

Hourly Pay: $20-25/h

Parking Reimbursement: Up to $15
Lunch included

Essential Job Functions:

• Greet and direct the guests at the event and provide assistance as needed.
• Distribute flyers and other marketing materials to the event attendees.
• Serve food and beverages to the event guests in a professional manner.
• Maintain and assist proper cleanliness of the event space by cleaning up glasses, dishes, and other materials used for the event. 
• Answer questions and provide information as needed.
• Provide general support to other event staff. 
• Help setup event spaces in a timely manner and assist with breakdown after event.
• Adhere to event safety standards.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

• Able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
• Able to talk, hear, reach, bend, kneel, and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds frequently. 
• Working Conditions
• Noise Level: Normal to Moderate 
• Indoor 

Other Requirements:

• Business level English required - Read/write/speak/listen.
• Business level Japanese preferred – Read/write/speak/listen.
• Maintain a positive attitude. 
• Able to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload.
• Individuals assigned to work at the sake booth must be at least 21 years old, as serving alcohol is required. 
• High school diploma or equivalent required. 

Knowledge and Skills:

• Demonstrate good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent multitasking ability.
• Knowledge of Japanese food and sake including wine, shochu, and spirits is a plus.
