Job Description

Join us as an Equity Synthetic Trading Assistant. At Barclays, our vision is clear –to redefine the future of banking and help craft innovative solutions. You will help support the trading desk by assisting with trade execution, managing trade processes, focusing on Equity Synthetic products and Delta One swaps. You will be working closely with traders, sales, and internal teams. This role provides exposure to client-driven OTC equity synthetic products and Delta One strategies, making it a great opportunity for someone in a middle office role looking to get closer to trading.

To be successful as an Equity Synthetic Trading Assistant, you should have:

  • Experience with Equity Swaps, Synthetic Equity, and/or Delta One products

  • VBA or basic coding is a plus

  • Familiarity with client-driven OTC equity flows and index-based swaps

  • Understanding of trade lifecycle processes, including trade booking, confirmation, and break resolution

This role is located in our New York, New York office.

Minimum Salary: $95,000

Maximum Salary: $120,000

The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above include only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

Purpose of the role

To maintain the smooth and efficient operation of our trading desks, providing operational support and expertise to traders, sales professionals, and other key stakeholders, helping them maximize their productivity and minimize disruptions and handling administrative tasks, and providing market information and research. 

Accountabilities

  • Provision of immediate and efficient technical support to traders and sales professionals on the trading desks, resolving hardware, software, and network-related issues to ensure uninterrupted trading activities.
  • Coordination of trade execution by liaising with traders, clients, and other internal teams to ensure smooth transactions.
  • Maintenance and updating of trade records, transaction logs, and client databases accurately.
  • Reports, presentations, and documentation preparation to support sales and trading activities.
  • Monitoring of market data and assist in the analysis of financial information for trading decisions.
  • Operational tasks such as processing trades, confirming orders, and resolving trade discrepancies.
