Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Aid in managing site safety and environmental programs (Chemical Hygiene, Biological Safety, Fire Safety).
  • Manage investigations of accidents and work-related injuries or illnesses, maintain OSHA 300 Logs, and follow up on Workers’ Compensation cases.
  • Oversee the site\'s Ergonomics Program, including evaluations and follow-up activities.
  • Assist in managing the EHS Training Program, maintain the training database, and provide limited training.
  • Review and update written safety and environmental programs including SOPs and Work Instructions.
  • Schedule and participate in quarterly Safety Council meetings and produce meeting minutes.
  • Conduct laboratory evaluations to ensure regulatory compliance and report activities.
  • Coordinate and document monthly safety equipment inspections (eye washes, emergency showers, fire extinguishers).
  • Conduct quarterly site inspections, document findings, and follow up as necessary.
  • Ensure all equipment and areas have the correct warning signs and labels.
  • Stay informed on compliance requirements and participate in relevant training.
  • Implement safety awareness programs and participate in departmental safety inspections.
  • Update and maintain EHS databases, track metrics, and prepare monthly reports.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Experience Required

  • Experience working within a biotech or laboratory setting in a safety role.
  • Experience or broad knowledge of EHS programs.

Skills & Certifications

  • Ability to take direction routinely.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of EHS regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in maintaining safety records and databases.
  • Capability to conduct training and evaluations.

Eligibilities & qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor\'s degree preferred in a relevant field.
  • Full-time position, 40 hours per week.
  • Onsite work only.
  • Maximum billing rate: $47/hr.
  • Daily work hour schedule determined upon hire.
