Position:                    Driver/Shipping Clerk

Reports to: Shipping Manager

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Department:  Shipping

Location/Shift: Monroe, OH/1st Shift

Essential Function:

Process domestic and international shipments, in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, in a timely and cost-effective manner while meeting strict deadlines. The Driver/Shipping Clerk f acilitates the day-to-day needs and requirements of the Shipping Department by loading and unloading assigned vehicle, pick up and deliver product to/from clients and vendors all over the Greater Cincinnati Area.

Experience:

• Minimum 1-3 years professional driving experience (box and/or cargo van) preferred
• General equipment knowledge of box and/or cargo vans, lift equipment, forklifts and pallet jacks (certifications may be required)
• Minimum 1-2 years shipping experience preferred, including experience with Power Industrial Trucks  (certification a plus), pallet jacks (manual and/or electric) and other material handling equipment
• Knowledge of LTL & International shipment processing a plus
• Knowledge of Fed Ex & UPS shipping systems, including online applications (e.g. FedEx Ship- Manager and UPS World-Ship)
• Experience with processing batch shipment labels for FedEx Ship-Manager and UPS World-Ship applications

• Keep accurate and complete daily records for data collection
• Meet company and departmental standards, including: Customer Requirements, Compliance, Safety, Quality, etc.
• Follow Lahlouh ISO Quality Procedures and Work Instructions, and complete forms and checklists as necessary
• Follow Lahlouh policies outlined in the company handbook
• Work overtime and weekends, as business needs dictate
• Perform other duties as required
• Attend department and company meetings
• Assist in training new and temporary employees

Position Specific Skills & Competencies:

• Follow team leader instructions for Shipping processes
• Comfortable with all aspects of the manufacturing workflow
• Comfortable with general aspects of Mailing / Post Office requirements
• Count, stack, box, label, transport material appropriately
• Oversee Helper(s) as required
• Ability to process shipments for a variety of shipping carriers and meet all deadlines/cut offs
• Keep trucks, jobs and shipping floor clean and organized
• Ability to sit, stand, and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to operate Power Industrial Trucks push/pull loaded pallet jacks and/or rolling carts (certification may be required)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and 75 pounds on occasion
• Clean DMV record
• General Knowledge of Greater Cincinnati Area (for driving routes)
• Knowledge of shipping systems (FedEx, UPS)

Education:

• High school graduate/GED
