Drafter 2 - Survey CAD Technician Location: Birmingham, AL Employment Type :Full-time Experience Level: Mid-level (3+ years) About the Role We're looking for a detail-oriented Drafter 2 to join our growing team! If you have a strong background in CAD drafting and a passion for supporting land and utility survey projects, this could be the perfect fit. In this role, you'll work closely with both field crews and office staff to produce accurate and high-quality survey drawings. What You'll Do + Create CAD drawings for a variety of survey types, including: + Boundary surveys + Transmission line right-of-way surveys + Land tie surveys + As-built surveys + Topographic surveys + Support survey teams by researching existing survey and real estate records. + Communicate with local and state agencies to gather right-of-way information. + Assist in finalizing and transmitting completed survey projects. What We're Looking For + 3+ years of drafting experience in a professional setting. + Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar CAD software. + Strong understanding of land surveying principles and terminology. + Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Preferred Qualifications: + Associate's degree in Drafting or a related field. + Experience working with survey field crews or in a survey office environment.
