Department Overview
The Enterprise Governance and Shared Compliance (EG&SC) group within the General Counsel, and Ethics, Risk, and Compliance (GC ERC) department provides leadership, strategic direction, and critical oversight of cross-cutting governance and compliance matters, including overseeing and expanding existing enterprise programs for compliance with FERC, NERC, TSA, and privacy requirements. One aspect of this function is to lead and support coordination, governance, and implementation of critical shared (e.g., cross-functional) compliance requirements and adherence with standardized enterprise and operational compliance risk mitigations. The group also provides enterprise-wide governance over Information and Records Management (IRG) requirements.
Position Summary
This position oversees PG&E's compliance with standards, rules and policies issued by the Company’s regulators, including the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC), the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC), and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA). This leader will be responsible for ensuring that the Company appropriately understands, documents and executes its operations that meet both the letter and spirit of regulator mandates. The successful candidate will have a strong process orientation, a deep understanding of how to establish and maintain compliance obligations, including for electric transmission operations, and have an open and authentic style conducive to creating and overseeing teams, whether or not in their direct chain of command. The successful candidate will also be comfortable meeting with regulators and other external parties on matters of operational compliance. They also will build bridges with other organizations internal to the business, such as legal, risk, generation and information technology so that the Company’s compliance is end-to-end across the enterprise. This leader regularly will meet with officers and senior leadership in the various lines of business to communicate issues, coordinate actions and recommend/direct improvements.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work headquarters in Oakland.
Reporting Relationship
The Director, FERC, NERC, and TSA Compliance, reports to the Sr. Director and Managing Counsel, Enterprise Governance and Shared Compliance.

Compensation
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $174,000
Bay Area Maximum: $296,000
Background Qualifications
Minimum
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Business Degree or related discipline/equivalent experience.
• 10 years job related experience in regulatory and operational compliance.
Desired
• Bachelor’s in engineering, electrical, mechanical or civil.
• Law degree and job-related legal experience.
• Job related experience in electric operations and generation.
• Deep experience and demonstrated success in process design, control and controls testing.
• Understanding of Federal regulatory requirements, such as by FERC, NERC, WECC, TSA, and California Independent System Operator (CAISO).
