As an Estimator, you will play an instrumental role in ensuring accurate and timely cost-based estimates. In this position, you will collaborate with Sales, Account Management and Production staff. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in all direct mail processes, including offset printing, digital printing, bindery as well as a working knowledge of creative and digital estimating.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely, accurate, and detailed cost estimates for print production, finishing, and mailing services, including integrated marketing campaigns
• Analyze job requirements to ensure the most cost-effective method of production, exploring opportunities for production efficiencies
• Collaborate with Sales, Account Management, and Production teams to determine the scope of work, project approach, and timing of deliverables
• Source and request pricing from outside vendors for outsourced components (e.g., specialty printing, mailing services)
• Develop and maintain rate cards; provide cost analyses, P&L job reporting, and track budgets for various projects
• Submit purchase orders and manage them throughout the project lifecycle
• Review and approve proposals, change orders, invoices, and RFP documentation for accuracy and compliance with budgetary guidelines
• Prioritize, organize, and maintain all estimates and related documentation within the estimating system
• Monitor and ensure adherence to established pricing procedures and company guidelines
• Provide format advice and guidance to internal teams to optimize project execution
• Travel as needed to visit vendors and/or attend press checks

Qualifications

• 5+ years of estimating experience in the direct mail, advertising or publishing industry.
• Demonstrated success developing pricing strategies and competitive pricing models.
• Knowledge of data list purchasing.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent math, analytical, problem solving, organizational and communication skills.
• The ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment with excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required.
• Expert in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
