Position Overview:

Greenlife Healthcare Staffing is seeking a DDDS Consultative Medical Examiner specializing in Developmental Therapy/Speech-Language Pathology to support the Division of Disability Determination Services (DDDS) as part of the Social Security disability adjudication process. This role involves reviewing medical and therapy records, evaluating the severity of speech, language, and developmental impairments, and providing expert written and verbal consultation to DDDS adjudicator staff. The examiner assists in determining medical eligibility for Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI), Supplemental Security Income (SSI), and related state programs, ensuring all assessments align with Social Security regulations and standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Licensure/Certifications:
    • Current, unrestricted Speech-Language Pathology license (Washington State preferred; other states accepted for medical specialties per RFQ).
    • Licensed to conduct business in Washington State.
  • Experience:
    • 5+ years of experience in medical consultation for disability determination (DDDS or equivalent).
    • 2+ years of post-graduate training/experience in speech-language pathology or developmental therapy.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in medical records review and computer systems.
  • Soft Skills: Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong written/verbal communication.
  • Additional Requirements:   No exclusion from Medicare/Medicaid or federal programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and interpret speech-language, developmental therapy, and related medical records for disability claims.
  • Evaluate the severity and functional impact of speech, language, and developmental impairments in accordance with Social Security Administration guidelines.
  • Provide written and verbal expert consultation to DDDS adjudicator staff regarding medical evidence, impairment severity, and eligibility for disability benefits.
  • Participate as a member of the adjudicative team, collaborating with other medical and psychological consultants.
  • Attend and participate in quarterly Medical Consultant meetings.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with DDDS and federal requirements.
  • Respond to consultation requests and questions during core business hours.
