Association Overview: The Clark County Education Association, representing over 18,800 licensed professionals in 370 schools, is the largest independent union in the U.S. CCEA provides professional development, legal services, legislative involvement, and benefits programs. : The Clark County Education Association (CCEA) is seeking a dynamic Communications Director to lead and innovate our organization's communications strategy across multiple platforms. The Communications Director will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing a comprehensive social media strategy, securing strategic press placements to elevate CCEA's visibility throughout the state and the country, and crafting a digital video strategy to compellingly narrate the stories of CCEA's members and their struggles.

This position requires a visionary leader who can oversee CCEA's messaging to our membership and the public across various media. As the primary media contact, the Communications Director will craft and disseminate influential content, fostering deeper engagement with our audience and enhancing our advocacy for teaching professionals and public education in the fifth largest school district in the United States.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute an innovative social media strategy to expand CCEA's reach and engagement.
• Secure strategic press placements to increase awareness of CCEA's activities at state and national levels.
• Implement a digital video strategy to effectively communicate the stories and experiences of CCEA members.
• Coordinate with the Assistant Executive Director and senior department heads to align communication efforts with organizational goals.
• Oversee content development for all communication mediums, ensuring high-quality, targeted messaging.
• Build and maintain relationships with key media representatives, influencers, and member leaders.
• Analyze communication data and integrate insights into strategy enhancements.

Essential Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Political Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic communications, media relations, and social media management.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and content creation skills.
• Proven track record in media placements and social media growth.
• Proficiency in InDesign, Photoshop, Canva or other relevant software.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
• Video editing is a plus.
