Job Description

DataStaff, Inc. is currently seeking a Cloud Network Engineer for a long-term contract opportunity with one of our direct clients in Raleigh, NC .

*This position is hybrid

Responsibilities:

• Support applications hosted in the cloud (AWS/Azure) and on-Prem.
• Troubleshooting cloud infrastructure issues related to networking and security.
• Create firewall rules for environments.
• Assist the Operations and Cloud team as requested.
• Maintain and keep track of all technical duties related to cloud networking such as design, implementation, and support.
• Manage, monitor, troubleshoot and resolve network performance issues: utilization/throughput, slowness, and unexpected latency.

Required Skills:

• 5 years - Extensive hands-on experience with Palo Alto VM Series firewall and Panorama configuration and optimization
• 3 years - Experience with routers, routing protocols, transit gateways, load balancing, and overall cloud networking, including VPCs, subnets, routes, security
• 5 years - Experience with security best practices and implementing security controls in a AWS cloud environment.
• 5 years - Experience with VPN technologies to include IPsec and SSL technologies.
• 3 years - Ability to work on large TCP/IP networks, design, implementation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with name services and resolution, associated IP assignments.
• Knowledge of core network services (including DNS, DHCP, and IPAM technologies)
• Possess strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot complex cloud networking infrastructure issues.
• Self-motivated with strong team-oriented and collaborative attitude.

Desired Skills:

• Strong knowledge and understanding of cloud infrastructure components: compute, storage, network management, and monitoring (network and security)
• Knowledge of WAF as a Service (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform).
