Job Description

Bluegrass Orthopaedics is hiring a full-time Certified Athletic Trainer for the Collegiate Setting.

We are looking for a self-motivated, outgoing personality who enjoys working with athletes to prevent injury and help them realize their competitive goals. Bluegrass Orthopaedics provides a fun, family atmosphere, and the opportunity to work with many individuals from different disciplines. Competitive salary based on years of experience, with an excellent benefits package (health, dental, vision, long term disability, life insurances; paid licensure fees; continuing education allowance; 401K/profit sharing plans).

As an Athletic Trainer with Bluegrass Orthopaedics, you will work under the direction of the Coordinator of Sports Medicine. The position will be required to work full-time at the school covering home events, while working to prevent, assess and treat athletic injuries as well as educate athletes, parents and coaches. The Athletic Trainer will work to keep solid documentation records of injuries and treatments using Healthy Roster.

Bluegrass Orthopaedics has been serving Central and Southeastern Kentucky for over 25 years. We offer a variety of services for all areas of sports medicine, total joint care, industrial medicine and foot, ankle and hand care. We pride ourselves in treating athletes of all ages - from the youth sports athlete, to the weekend warrior, the industrial athlete, to the senior athlete. This position also offers extensive opportunities for per diem work.

This position is a dual role position, but college responsibilities will take precedence over clinical duties. College duties include, but are not limited to, fulfilling the 6 domains of athletic training, as well as community outreach. Clinical duties include, but are not limited to, special projects assigned according to the strengths of the individual athletic trainer, with time responsibility equivalent to one morning per week. Bluegrass Orthopaedics strives to be at the forefront of the most current practices and research, so occasional case studies and other research may be completed.

Job Requirements:

Education requirement:
○ High School Diploma or Equivalent
○ Bachelor's required, Masters and/or 2 years of experience is preferred

Certification requirements:
○ Current CPR certification required
○ ATC certification required, as well as Kentucky licensure or eligible for licensure

Position requires knowledge of medical terminology and some medical office clinical experience or knowledge.

Must be able to demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and clearly (both written and oral communication) and interact effectively with patients and other employees at all levels of the organization

At Bluegrass Orthopaedics, we know that our employees are our best assets when it comes to providing exceptional orthopedic care to our patients. It’s the reason we are dedicated to hiring the most qualified staff to uphold our standards of care.
