JOB TITLE: Building Materials Associate JOB LOCATION: Grand Junction, CO SALARY: $18.00 - $25.00 REPORTING TO: Location Manager FUNCTION: The Building Materials Associate provides effective administrative support to the site location, serves as first contact with vendors and customers, and offers consultation to existing clientele. KEY ACTIVITIES:
  • Visualize, fulfil, and implement the company vision and core values.
  • Manage incoming calls and information requests in a professional, efficient, and effective manner.
  • Assist in operational and sales activities.
  • Greet and assess customer needs in order to direct customer traffic appropriately.
  • Engage customers, vendors and business associates in a friendly and professional manner, providing input, direction, and support.
  • Efficiently process basic customer orders/quotes and other transactions.
  • Assist customers in problem resolution.
  • Develop a clear understanding of customer needs and provide relevant design and project support.
  • Organize and distribute incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Order and maintain office supplies inventory.
  • Provide comprehensive support to sales team and management.
  • Manage the purchasing, inventory, and stocking of retail items, ensuring optimal product availability, timely restocking, and accurate inventory records to support sales and meet customer demand.
  • Provide exceptional customer service in the yard by assisting customers with product selection, loading, and ensuring a positive and efficient shopping experience.
  • Safely operate a forklift to move, organize, and transport materials and products within the warehouse and yard, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and efficient workflow.
  • Perform miscellaneous office and building maintenance tasks.
  • Review, understand, and adhere to policies and procedures.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with safety requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral) as well as strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.
  • Able to accurately assess customer project and design needs and provide proactive solutions.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification through company training, ensuring adherence to safety operations and procedures.
  • Strong computer proficiency with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • High level of professionalism and personal responsibility.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Degree or background relevant to interior design/construction or a related field.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Sedentary work, requiring lifting up to 75lbs.
  • Repetitive motion associated with operating a computer and other office equipment.
  • Occasional exposure to outside elements.
