Do you enjoy making delicious treats? We are looking for a commercial baker enjoys preparing wonderful baked goods according to recipes and production specifications. You will bake items that will delight our customers with their taste. Must be comfortable in moving around the bakery and apt in multi-tasking. Experience in using various ingredients and baking techniques is important. Prepares food in accordance with applicable federal, state and corporate standards, guidelines and regulations with established policies and procedures. Ensures quality food is always delivered.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5:00am – 1:30pm

Earn a competitive hourly wages starting at $19.00 to $21.50 per hour based on professional baking experience.

Responsibilities:

Bake muffins, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries per the production and catering sheets; assists in production planning to meet daily requirements. Guarantee proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes, following prescribed production standards and use of proper equipment. Handle food items appropriately and follow all safety regulations.

Will assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting, with the completion of production records to include waste tracking, used/unused portions and product shortages. Assists with ordering and receiving of all food and supplies.

Performs job safely while maintaining a clean, sanitized and safe work environment. Maintains sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area. Cleans equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area for other assignments. Follows principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment, ensuring corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed.

Maintains good working relationships with coworkers and managers.

Baker Qualifications:

• High school graduate or GED, preferred.
• Requires prior experience in high volume commercial baking.
• Strong passion and motivation to create great food.
• General baking knowledge of basic bakery and kitchen practices, protocols and procedures.
• Strong understanding of baking techniques and pastry fundamentals.
• Understanding of typical baking units of measure, accurately perform mathematics and recipe conversion calculations.
• Ability to read and follow recipes accurately.
• Ability to work safely with large volume baking equipment including but not limited to large quantity mixer, robot coupe, and convection ovens.
• Must be able to work with heat or high temperature.
• Possess safe knife handling skills.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations; ability to follow procedures.
• Reliable attendance.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:

• Stand, talk, hear, taste and smell.
• Must be able to stand up for eight (8) hours at a time.
• Walk; use hands or fingers: stoop, kneel, or crouch; reach with hands and arms.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read recipes, write, understand, and speak Basic English to perform essential duties of the position and the ability to communicate with co-workers.
