ACARA Solutions and our defense client in McLeansville, NC have a long-term contract or contract-to-hire position available.

Analog Power Design Engineer

FYI, we also have a direct salaried opening at our national aerospace client near the beach in the Panhandle of Florida: Power Electronics Engineer that provides analog circuit and digital design for aircraft/spacecraft power conversion products.

Here's what you'd do:

• As an Analog Power Design Engineer for Undersea Systems, you'll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing Undersea Communication systems. 
• The use of specialized laboratory equipment such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment for development, testing, and troubleshooting
• Solid use of electrical engineering concepts, principles, and theories
• Analog design and instrumentation (design and analysis)
• Circuit Design expertise
• Power System architecture and grounding
• Isolated Switching Converters
• Transmission Line Effects in Power Systems
• EMI test and control methods (MIL-STD-461, FCC / IDE / VDE, etc.)

Job Requirements

Required Skills / Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Science or Engineering or Mathematics
• Minimum 5 years of experience in High Voltage DC Power systems / Module design
• Minimum 5 years of multiple power topology design experiences from a few watts to KW+ converters.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in High voltage applications, power transmission systems, power electronics and HVDC technology
• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design
• Minimum 5 years of Feedback / Control systems experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in writing specifications, requirements, and verification procedures for complex electronic systems and components
• Minimum 5 years of Ahead of technology trends with Research & Development (R&D) experience
• Minimum 5 years of experience in testing, troubleshooting, and analyzing circuit card schematics

Preferred Skills / Qualifications:

• Master's Degree
• Magnetics Design and High-Speed Design experience 
• Strong troubleshooting ability: must be able to diagnose a problem by narrowing the point of failure sequentially through components
• Motivated to drive innovation around design architectures, assembly, component selection, and electronics design
• Exceptional collaboration and communication skills with demonstrated success in leading design teams for complex projects
• Team player committed to ongoing professional development for yourself and others.
