We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee and direct the financial operations of our organization. This role is based in North County San Diego, and involves managing financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls while supporting the accounting team. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial systems, tax planning, and team leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce internal controls and guidelines for all accounting transactions and processes.
- Manage payroll operations, including both regular and supplemental payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports and ensure compliance with U.S. accounting standards, including consolidated reporting for headquarters.
- Ensure timely completion of account reconciliations and manage the year-end closing process.
- Handle tax planning, prepare corporate tax returns, and manage sales and use tax filings based on state requirements.
- Audit financial accounts for compliance with state and federal regulations, and coordinate with external auditors for annual audits.
- Supervise the accounts receivable process, including monitoring aging reports and managing credit terms.
- Review and approve outgoing payments while maintaining oversight of rebate programs and accurate processing.
- Provide training and support to accounting team members, fostering their growth and development.
- Optimize accounting systems and workflows to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
- Proven ability to set and achieve challenging goals while demonstrating persistence and adaptability.
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to convey ideas clearly in writing and verbally.
- Experience in managing customer-focused initiatives, including monitoring satisfaction and establishing service standards.
- Leadership experience, with a track record of developing team members and delivering performance feedback.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze issues and develop actionable solutions.
- Proficiency with SAP and expertise in balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
- In-depth knowledge of U.S. accounting standards and practices.
